Some people may not realize that Las Vegas is a great destination option for family vacations. I remember as a kid visiting Las Vegas and being excited by all the lights, glitz and glamour.  Of course my parents did all they could to carefully shield us away from the half naked showgirls in the lobbies, but being young and naïve we barely even noticed. Think about all the fantastic swimming pools, roller coasters, arcades and shops that they have strewn about the strip- it’s a kid’s paradise disguised as an adult playhouse!

Even the littlest Vegas go-ers can enjoy some time on the strip. There are many activities and attractions that babies and toddlers will enjoy. Here is a list of a few toddler friendly Las Vegas activities:

Bellagio, Las Vegas Atrium and Fountains: Each season and for special holidays the atrium at the Bellagio changes to showcase vibrant colors, flowers, and shapes all that will appeal to a little one. Once you are finished exploring the Atrium you can head outside for the fountain show. My little girl loves to watch and wonder at the fountains and music. Very entertaining for all ages.

MGM Grand Las Vegas Lion Habitat: Little kids love animals and love the opportunity to see large ones they usually only see in books up close in real life. Both kids and adults will enjoy the Lion Habitat and learning all about the majestic King of the animal world.

Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas Shark Reef: This is not just your average aquarium. This is an impressive undersea habitat featuring 2,000 different species including rare crocodiles, jellie fish and endangered sea turtles. Not only will your toddler be pointing and oohing and awing but you will as well.

Secret Garden at Mirage, Las Vegas: This is a great place to explore for kids of all ages. It’s not everyday you get to see dolphins play and tigers roar. It’s an enchanting place to spend your afternoon and it will be hard to remember that tiger’s aren’t quite cuddly as they look when your toddler is begging to bring one home.

Wildlife Habitat at the Flamingo, Las Vegas: We love this fun free little wild life habitat nestled in the middle of the Flamingo. Appropriately you will find a flock of flamingos to gaze and wonder at, as well as koi fish, turtles, ducks, swans and even pheasant!

New York New York, Las Vegas Arcade: While many of the games and activities are a little old for the younger crowd, many toddlers will enjoy running around and looking at all the lights and noise in amazement. They will also enjoy playing along with some of the games and can definitely find a prize to their liking.

What are some of your favorite places to take your toddlers when you visit Las Vegas, Nevada as a family?
