Whether you are looking for a savory or sweet breakfast replacement or something to make a yummy grain-free sandwich on, chaffles are the new low carb keto treat.
What is a Chaffle?
A chaffle which is pronounced like waffle but with the “ch” sound, is literally a waffle made out of cheese. Now if you haven’t tried one of these crispy crunchy delectable treats yet and you are on a low carb keto diet you are definitely missing out. They satisfy that feeling of needing something with a good crunch in your life, not something you always can get on a Keto diet.
A chaffle is a combination of egg and cheese (and usually a little almond flour for binding) cooked in a waffle maker. They are all the rage and they are actually pretty quick and easy to create.
Chaffles Explained
Some of My Best Chaffle tips:
- Use a lot of Keto approved cooking spray
- Don’t use too much batter but don’t use too little either.
- Cook for about three to four minutes.
Mini Waffle Maker
The smaller waffle makers are becoming trendy and well, they make cute little waffles/chaffles and can help with portion control I suppose. You don’t really need the mini waffle maker to make a chaffle. Any waffle maker will work. If you feel like getting one of the small ones here is my favorite one.
