We recently used our credit card bonuses to book a stay at a five-star resort in Aruba.

Ever since I have posted my last post on How We Travel So Often And You Can Too, I have received an overwhelming response in emails on credit cards and how we use them to travel. I’m going to list a few of our favorites and how we use them but here is my official disclaimer: Credit cards are to be used responsibly. We do not advocate debt and use them at your own discretion and your own risk. There now that the great big fat elephant is out of the room let me tell you how we make it work for us.

We seek out credit cards with the best sign up bonuses based on our travel needs at the time. In the past that has meant that we focused on airline credit cards for major point bonuses when we signed up, currently we don’t need those bonuses because Reid works part-time for an airline, now our focus is on hotels since that is what we need help with when we travel.

How We Travel So Often And How You Can Too!

Sunset in Maui

My all time hated response to when people find out what we do is: “lucky” or “I wish I could travel that much.” I think this is a common feeling among travel bloggers about the reactions we get. I promise I’m not “lucky” as if this by happen chance fell upon my lap. dancing at crankworx

A couple weeks ago our neighbor’s graciously offered to gift us their piano. When they offered it to us at first I just stared at them in disbelief. It has been my desire for quite some time for a piano and I often found myself looking on Craigslist wishfully and had even made Reid promise to buy me one for my 30th birthday. When I was younger I had taken piano lessons and actually really enjoyed them. I also wanted my children to be able to have the opportunity to take lessons as well. So when they offered us the piano- I tried to stay calm but on the inside I was jumping up and down with excitement.

Highlights From Our Trip To Aruba

Hyatt Regency Aruba

Hyatt Regency in Aruba

This was our first ever family vacation as a family of 5. We had traveled a little here and there but since things had been so crazy with a cross-country move just three weeks after our littlest was born, starting businesses, finding houses, getting our heads on straight we just hadn’t had the best opportunity.

Aruba beach water

Aruba was amazing. It was everything I was hoping and dreaming for, for our first ever family vacation to the Caribbean. The sand was soft and white, the weather was toasty, and the ocean was warm and inviting.

When I set out to plan our dream beach vacation for our family, there were a few things I was looking for in a destination. I didn’t want our hotel to be forever away from the airport, I needed it to be little kid and baby friendly, I wanted safe and I wanted easy. Aruba most definitly met our expectations.

Here are the five reasons we loved Aruba:
