Eating Around: Celebrity Cruises

Only by a close second does the scenery on our cruise beat the cuisine. And really that’s because it’s Alaska and that’s just no competition. Had we been anywhere else and the food would have been King Supreme. I mean, it even had Reid begging for mercy at one point. He was eating his roasted lamb and he just started nodding his head and saying this is amazing. It takes a lot to get that kind of reaction out of him.
I on the other hand couldn’t stop raving. Most people know I am a foodie at heart, but they also know I do not discriminate. There really isn’t anything I don’t like. I also love gourmet, but I can eat ribs and hamburgers with the best of them. I just appreciate food in all of it’s glory. A cruise is definitly the best of both worlds. You get your fine dining in the main dining room and specialty restaurants but also if you are looking for a good quality face stuffing the buffet is where it’s at. Here are some of the highlights of our favorite food moments from our Celebrity Cruise in pictures, that is if we could bring ourselves to snap a shot before we gobbled it down.

  1. That food looks devine. Truly delicious. And I say this as someone who is the same as you: a person who can enjoy and understand why great food is great, but won’t turn done comfort foods.
And with all the talk I hear about cruise food, I am starting to look forward to the cruise we’re taking in October. I don’t know the line, as it is a family hosted and planned event, but I have yet to hear a bad food/cruise story. The best has the complimentary pizza buffet.
God I hope that is on our cruise!!

By the way, is there usually a workout room on board too?

  2. I originally thought this was some kind of promotion where you go on a cruise with celebrities, and it reminded me of my first cruise ever.

We went on a 3-day cruise out of L.A. and Richard Kiel (Jaws from James Bond and the guy with the “Guns don’t kill people, I kill people” shirt in Happy Gilmore) was on our cruise. Needless to say, it was awesome.

I’ve never heard of Celebrity Cruises but I’ll have to check them out!

  3. Okay I am hooked. Sign me up. My SIL was telling me that the cruises dump their water in Alaska and it’s not eco-friendly but I still want to go!

  4. My favorite thing about cruises is all the food. I went on a cruise to Alaska once and they had a salmon BBQ every day….which meant I ate salmon quite a bit…delicious!
