I love this video that was done to promote visiting the country of Peru. I haven’t been there but Reid went back in 2010 and has been talking and dreaming of going back ever since. I believe something about him changed after that trip, similarly to what is expressed in the video. He hadn’t been anywhere like it before and it awoke something inside of him.
Personally I love Peruvian food and crave it often and if I can get over my issues with high altitude I am sure I would really enjoy visiting Peru. I don’t think it would take much convincing to get me to go!
If you have noticed our absence recently, it’s because we’ve been on vacation (hey even travelers need a vacation!). We were visiting with family in Southern Utah, enjoying the weather, water, and the break from our cares. We also celebrated Pioneer Day which is thick in our heritage and blood. Sometimes it’s nice to take simple trips like this to help keep us grounded, remember those who came before us and those who helped pave the way for where we are today.
Of course one of our favorite parts of this annual tradition is the quest for glassy water. Check out this video of Reid and I wakeboarding at Quail Creek State Park (no we are not showcasing our skills or lack thereof) and enjoy the beautiful scenery but also take a second to appreciate the glassy water! It was the best day we had down there this year.
And really everyone needs a good wipeout video in their life.
We had the privilege of staying up at the Stein Eriksen Lodge this past weekend as part of our Park City project. Basically, we are researching hotels and food and will be writing reviews and posts and then bring you a roundup of our favorites.
Here is our vlog teaser of our project. I was supposed to be the one doing the vlog but I kept botching it up. A special thank you to Reid for stepping up to the plate, and another special thank you to BabyTravels and ToddlerTravels for their cameos. We also promise to make these vlogs more interesting in the future. Seriously, it’s a goal of ours.
This is our first ever Vlog on DottingTheMap and hopefully there will be more to come and they will be a little more lively and exciting. Thanks for checking it out!
If you read my post from last week about how awesome the City Creek Center is, you may have noticed I missed out on how cool this fountain is. Reminds me a little of the Bellagio fountains on a much smaller scale as it is set to music but it includes a fire centerpience. Check out this awesome video of it!
