Where To Stay In Jamaica
Last year I had the opportunity to visit Jamaica as part of a blogger’s press trip (Hilarye couldn’t go because doctors wouldn’t let her fly). I was a changed person when I came back. I loved the culture, the people, the food and scenery. When planning a vacation to Jamaica you have many different options, so here are some tips on how to choose the best places to stay in Jamaica.
All Inclusive
Jamaica is known for and has a plethora of all inclusive resorts on the island. Sandals, Breezes and RIU resorts are all over the place. I stayed at the RIU Montego Bay and the RIU Palace Negril. Both were great options when considering all inclusives. They were clean, had great pools, beach access and plenty of places to eat and drink. Although we don’t typically stay at many all inclusive resorts, we’d rather be out among the locals, they are a great option for those who want to sit back, relax and be pampered.
Boutique Hotels
There are quite a number of boutique hotels in Jamaica, but on my tour one resort particularly stood out to me. The Rock House Hotel in Negril was a stunning place. Nestled into the rocky cliffs along the coast, this hotel has a variety of private villas many of which have private access to the ocean. The secluded paths, specialty spa and beautifully decorated rooms all speak tranquility and the entire place was so peaceful. I can’t wait until we make it back to Jamaica, we will definitely be spending some time at the Rock House.
Other Options
There are also some great alternatives to getting a hotel or booking an all inclusive. Hostels are always an option for the budget traveller and you can also find a plethora of luxury Jamaica vacation rentals that may suit the needs of your family.

I’ve only been to Jamaica once and we stayed at Sandals- so unoriginal and will never do it again!

We have a vacation rule- no all inclusive because it’s too exclusive if you know what I mean- you limit yourself to only those experiences.

I’ve done both villas and resorts and being together in a villa is much cooler. That’s assuming that everyone gets along
Hope you have fun in Jamaica!
